Temptation

My second

The bus was fully crowded.I was on my way to attend seventh interview. In the morning I had went to the nearby Shiva temple and prayed. I actually was fed up of attending the interviews. Previous day I even had a heated argument with  dad. I wanted to start some business and asked him to arrange him some money. Dads advice was to start earning for ourselves and then do want all I want with money. I shouted at dad and slept without food. In my sleep, the devil and the angel argued and angel win. The angel consoled myself, yes what he told was right. I should try again.

I started chanting some prayers. The next bus stop was the railway station and many stepped down from the bus. Luckily I got a seat. Can you please hold my bag? A man aged 60-65 asked. I readily agreed. Half an hour went by.  I woke up from a small sleep. I searched for the old man and couldn't find him. The bus now had so many vacant seats too. Oh, he has forgotten to get back the bag. I opened the bag to check if there was any contact no. Oh no, it was jewels approx 10 bangles and 3 chains all of Gold. I was shocked and didn't knew what to do. Nothing else was there in the bag. I started shivering. The bus was reaching a signal. I looked once again in the bus. No sure the man has forgotten it. Suddenly I noticed the old man was running towards the bus. He was approx 10 buses behind, he was looking at each bus and was running at the same time. Suddenly I heard the devils voice "This is the right time, Take this as the gift from GOD. Don't miss this opportunity". I closed his eyes and sat. The bus now has crossed the signal. Oh my God, what should I do? The best option for me would be to get down from the bus, take an auto and go back home, Yes I decided. I got down at the next stop. I reached the auto stand. I was tempted to take the auto and go to my home. 'No no and No'. I heard my critical inner voice telling me.  I was tempted again by the devil. "Don't loose this precious opportunity, yo will regret". I couldn't resist the temptation. I looked back again. There I saw the old man standing at the signal looking in all directions. The angel was telling, "You need to be strong enough to resist this and give back the old man his jewels."

I directed the auto driver to drive me to the signal. "Please check whether this is yours and everything perfect." I asked the man. He was weeping, he took the bag checked it and suddenly hugged me tightly. "Oh my dear son, how can I thank you? My younger daughter marriage is on next Sunday. I was back from the bank. Bus was heavily crowded and someone pushed out while stepping down. I don't actually know how to thank you enough." I could see tears rolling down. I told the auto driver to take him to his house. I took the next bus and went to the interview.

The day ended with a thank you note to GOD.

Thank you God for giving me a very special day, Another chance to become a better individual. Thank you for making me strong.

Meanwhile  mom was  telling to dad "I was sure he will pass this interview".

That day I felt I was strong, I felt God is always with me and I could feel the confidence. Yes my GOD is guarding me and he strengthens me. So believe "Everything is possible".

P.S: This is only a piece of fiction

Time doesn't heal all wounds

Dear my son, to whom could I share
The depth of the emptiness that surrounds us
Who told Time can heal all wounds
  There instead are wounds
Which only increase day by day

We have only one question to the master
  Why? Why and Why?

We are ready very much ready
For the journey the very last journey
With hope that we shall meet you
As each day passes by we are happy
We feel we are one day closer to you

PS - This is my humble attempt on a poem. I read a post of a father who has lost his only son. The intention was just to imagine and  express  his feelings.  The bond between them touched me deeply.

Salt and Pepper

Salt and Pepper

It was Sunday morning. Meera woke up pretty late and switched on the radio. It was her birthday and she saw more than a dozen missed calls of Shyam in her mobile. She switched off her cell and sat in the sofa reading the paper. It has been exacly one year she talked with him.

What we are now listening is  a lecture by Dr. Madhumitha on 'Marriages - are they made in heaven'? Meera increased radio volume.

If a marriage is to be beautiful both the partners should have respect, love and  care.
Like two shakers of salt and pepper both of them are inevitable. Todays divorces happen because no one is serious in maintaning the love effects. The word 'DIVORCE' which was not known to our grandparents and not even common among our parents, has now been commom in 80% marriages. Egos, lack of care, critizing, unrealistic expectation all adds up to it.Make a councious effort to satisy your partners desires, you can see it gets reciprocated and it will be beautiful. It needs sacrifice, sharing, and selfless attitude.  If both partner does  frequent self-analysis and concentrates on correcting his/her own imperfections , then transformation comes and marriage will surely be a beautiful journey. When frustrations happens just relax relax and just rewind the good old days.

The lecture continued and Meera was rewinding the picture album in her mind. Their first meeting, the letters they mailed, the pretty lot of gifts they exchanged, the six month's wait peiod after the engagement.

She looked at clock and noticed it was noon. She switched on the mobile. There again was few missed calls from him and a message. You Are The Butter To My Bread and the breath to my life Meera. I can't miss you anymore. Shre read it again and again and tears started rolling down.

Stop Over Analyzing, Life is Simple

Stop Over Analyzing, Life is Simple

I was thinking of my post's topic today and this quote inspired me to write.

God has gifted us with ability to think and if we are not using this properly, it will have adverse effects.

I have observed two types of people

Type 1 - They possess almost everything that is required for a good life, but will analyze the consequence of even a simple action and make assumptions on  how things will turn around. They are focused more on future than on present moment. This over analysis process results in a combination of these feelings - anger, dissatisfaction, jealousy, fear, doubt, confusion, etc

Type 2 - They never let their thoughts control them. They perform their duties well and are always energetic. They enjoy each and every moment of their life.

Life is unpredictable.Over thinking ruins relations and creates unnecessary problems.

Attribute that I dislike most

I had been thinking a lot about the attitude that irritates me the most, and the answer I found is negativity. I categorized the people I have met in my life based on this and the differences I found between optimistic and pessimistic people are the following

1. An optimist always have a sense of gratitude

2. He belives life is a journey and every problem is an opportunity given by GOD to make him strong

3. Whatever happens he is always at ease.

4. They worry less on what they lack and feels happy on what all blessings they have.

5. They always are grateful

I found them successful in life even after setbacks in life. They are always HAPPY.

Pessimist

1. Their belief system are their guide. They easily jump into wrong assumptions and judgements

2. Easily depressed even a  small loss in their expectation and gives up easily

3. Lock themselves in an inner world

4. Hold on grudges and distance himself from a problem rather than dealing with the real problem

3. Live with ego and take every thing personally

Gifts for my child

Five  things that I would want to gift my child for secure future

Our present society  is in desperate need of good parents who can  inspire and motivate their children to pursue their dreams and reach their potential. We can contribute to the society a lot by raising children with the following virtues. We can teach them by being a good example

I will gift my child with the following traits

1. Self Confidence and courage to face the challenges in life

2. Freedom to think and act - Give them the freedom to think and take decissions.

3. Gratitude & love for all - Gratitude sure makes the world a better place

4. Honesty - Children should be taught that truthfulness is critical in all of our interactions with other people

5. Humility - They need to assess their strengths and weaknesses, should be ready to accept their mistakes.

Connection between happiness and judgemental

Read an article on Happiness and these are some thoughts arising of it.

It is a common mistake done by us in dealing with others, we assume that they share the same view of reality as we do.We usually ignore each one is from a different background, have different opinions, have different preferences. We expect them to behave as we wish and when when it doesn't happens we are unhappy.

Our mind is programmed to be judgmental.A pretty lot of negative energy is being wasted when we are judgmental.  Since judgment comes so naturally and easily to us, breaking the habit is difficult.

1. Just focus on only the positive side of people.

2. Always have some empathy for others. This will surely reduce the urge to judge others.

3. Don't assume you and your thoughts are always right.

4. Do we actually have the right to ask "Why they are not behaving like what I expect?". I think this is the most foolish question we ask.

From my own life experiences I have felt I was always in trouble whenever I was judgmental.

Some quotes on this

Judge nothing, you will be happy.
Forgive everything, you will be happier.
Love everything, you will be happiest.
